Men As Allies is a group of like-minded Men within our community who are willing to take a stand aginst “Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault” by publically letting others know that these actions are unacceptable in our community!
I’m calling out for you to please join us Sunday Nov. 23rd to help make a statement in our community against “Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault!” by Marching!
We will be making this statement by Marching in the Columbia Jaycees Holiday Parade on Sun. Nov.23rd @ 3pm in downtown Columbia. (Rain or Shine)
We will be meeting to lineup between 1:00-1:30PM. The route will run west on Broadway, from College Avenue to 5th Street. I have not yet received our line-up details, but in the past we have typically lined up on Willis St. which is the first street on your right when traveling East on Broadway from downtown. Willis is the street just as you pass under the pedestrian bridge on Broadway that services the Stephens College Campus. I will post the exact location along with our Parade line-up number next week as soon as it becomes available.
If you are unable to make this March but yet still would like to take a stand in our community to state that “Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault” are unacceptable, please visit the link over to the left entitled "Take a stand and be a Man" to sign our ongoing online Petition of Males in our community that are willing to take a stand by signing and making your voice heard that this is unacceptable in our community! This Petition of signatures along with the statement for which we stand, will be printed inside The Columbia Daily Tribune in the near future.

“RHYTHM AND SOUL REVUE”
To benefit The Shelter
Friday April 11th @ The Blue Note
April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and VIDEOLOGY along with The Record Collector are making a statement that sexual assault and domestic violence is unacceptable in our community.
100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit the operations of “The Shelter” here in Columbia. The Shelter is a not for profit organization which provides a safe living environment for victims of domestic violence. Adults and children are also provided with services such as psychological counseling, life skills counseling, and other services necessary to empower victims to reclaim and restart life. The Shelter has developed a community education and outreach program for the prevention of sexual assault and domestic violence in cooperation with schools and other civic organizations throughout the state.
The “Rhythm & Soul Revue” consists of 12 to 14 of some of the most talented musicians from across the state. These musicians come from a vast array of musical genres, to collaborate on dozens of classic soul hits from the 1960s and 1970s. The result is a fantastic, high-energy sound that will move your soul and your feet. This ensemble comes complete with a horn section, percussion section, keyboards, some soulful female voices that hit harmonies & melodies that will lift your spirits and one heck of a charismatic front-man. In addition to all of this, the show is polished off with a multimedia visual display/background complete with live cameras as well as video footage from the era itself.
